FRIEND (through text): Backstreet Boys are on tour!
ME: Ohmygosh! I hope they come to Texas!
BOYFRIEND: Would you go see them if they do?
ME: OF COURSE I WOULD.
BOYFRIEND: But... aren't you, you know, 22?
I fail to see Boyfriend's point, readers. I'm sure you all know that I love the Backstreet Boys. I mean, their Millennium poster is behind me in my closeup shots. I've seen them in concert 3 times (Millennium, Black & Blue, and Jingle Jam). In fact, I attended all of those concerts with the very same friend who sent me that text and I sure as heck want to go to another one with her. We grew up together listening to the sweet melodies (and not-so-good dance beats) of Brian, Nick, Kevin, AJ, and Howie... Ah, the middle school memories. So readers, when the Backstreet Boys decide to add Texas onto their tour itinerary (BECAUSE THEY WILL), you have best believe that my friend and I will so be there.
I had the button-down shirt on at first but after seeing it pulling like crazy in the photographs decided to change tops. I'm glad I did!
I love both versions of your outfit. And wearing your hair like that makes you look so...grown up (gasp!) I'm loving this look, the pulled back hair and high-waisted full skirt. Very ladylike. This might be my favorite look on you as of late.
ReplyDeleteI like both outfits too! I swear your looks inspired me to be more colorful in my outfit selection... love the skirt!
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm feeling kind of old. My biggest boy band crush were the New Kids and that was WAY back in the day (elementary school!). Jonathan was my favorite because he was the shy, sensitive one ::sigh::
ReplyDeleteI love that skirt on you - it goes great with that belt.
I love this outfit -the mix of colors is awesome, and I NEED to go buy that darn belt immediately! Everytime I see it on you I remember, and then I forget about it!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, I love your outfit. The last especially- something about a grayish taupe shirt + a greenish aqua together makes me SO happy!
ReplyDeleteAnd, well, I have nothing to say about your love for the Backstreet Boys. The time when Digital Underground made a surprise performance at the half-time show at a Nuggets game was still one of the happiest days of my life.
ReplyDeleteAND I AM MARRIED. WHAT?
you are too funny with your love for BB! what pretty skirt! so perfect for spring!
ReplyDeleteI love that skirt - so colorful - makes me happy :)
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit! I can't even tell you how much I love how you pulled the second out fit together. Every thing is perfect and that fabulous belt added the finishing touch. Great job! I don't think I would know a BB song if one hit me in the face, but I love the dialogue between you and your boyfriend lol.
ReplyDeleteTara - Haha, thanks! I don't put my hair back very often because a lot of times it's more work to put it back than straightening it and leaving it down. My hair is SO FINICKY!
ReplyDeleteE Hayes - Aww, thanks! Color is wonderful! That being said, I do own waaaay too many gray, black, and navy-colored things...
Lisa - Awww, haha! My cousin was way into NKOTB, so I hear ya! I didn't get a radio until I was in middle school, so BSB were my first loves, haha!
Kim - I hope you find it! I know how much you love your belts AND mint green!
Chloe - There is nothing to be ashamed of. Nothing at all!
tam pham, eek - Thanks!
Patina - Thanks! Boyfriend actually knows a few BSB songs, though he won't admit it. Whatevs, it's not like he'd be going to the concert with me, haha!
You look so adorable!! I love the pairings of everything and the patterns on the skirt are so flirty, like you and your love of BSB!!
ReplyDeleteVery cute outfit! I especially love the skirt. I love how you styled it.
ReplyDeletei love it with the tank! the color is so creamy dreamy with that skirt!
ReplyDeleteum, i have no words for the backstreet boys. but my little sister is probably thrilled! i'm a product of the grunge era. so when i heard soundgarden was getting back together i told my husband we were going and i don't care how much tickets cost!
DEA – Haha, thanks! I do love my BSB!
ReplyDeleteMonique – Thanks!
anna – Haha, it’s funny that you mentioned grunge – I'm actually a huge grunge fan myself. Much more so than any other genre. And Soundgarden is my favorite band ever, so I was nearly doing back flips when I heard that they got back together! (I only didn't actually do back flips because I don't know how) My love for BSB has a lot more to do with nostalgia, I think, which doesn't mean that I love them any less!
I am so glad that I found another BSB lover! My friends make fun of me and they hate it b/c when it comes to karaoke time, I always pick as "long as you love me"! Hah!The belt is so pretty!

Haha, oh, the Backstreet Boys. 8th grade memories! I think it is awesome that you are going to see them! And I am ROFL at Chloe getting excited by Digital Underground, of all groups ;) Though I got all giddy last year at seeing Metallica, so yeah, can't judge either of you either I guess.... :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute outfit. And I think the second top was the right choice; gapping aside, it goes with the skirt so well.
I am laughing because Angela loves the New Kids the way you love the BSB's!
ReplyDeleteBoth outfits are great - you look amazing as you always do!
Happy Friday! I love that skirt! I never got into boy bands but I do remember that I was at the mall once in high school and Hanson made an appearance and I basically got run over by a bunch of teeny boppers. Probably the scariest moment of my life lol. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great to see how something "really" looks in a photo? I like the first top with the outfit, but I *really* like the second! The skirt is so fun. I hope BSB makes it to Texas for you!
ReplyDeleteAm I seriously the only girl who never got her squeal on over the Backstreet Boys? I still can't tell them apart from N*Sync...
ReplyDeleteI liked Boyfriend until this post.
