"I like the planes," he said. And with that, my willpower crumbled and The Dress was mine. (I AM WEAK.)

Oh yes, readers, the Wright dress is now in my possession. You can see my review of it here. Please excuse the wrinkles. You all know that I hate ironing, and after this dress sat in my closet for a few weeks because cold spells made it unwearable until now, it has gathered quite a few rumples. But that didn't stop me from traipsing out the door in it. The best part? It comes with detachable straps. I didn't even realize this until I was putting it on today. This is awesome news for members of the Chests That Can Barely Hold Up a Strapless Frock Committee. The straps are bra-strap style and it was easy to put them into place. WIN.
The more I see this dress, the more I love it.
ReplyDeleteI also LOVE the way you styled it with the olive/grey neutral pieces. I would think to go more matchy with navy, but this works probably better, awesome job!
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the planes too...
Adorable. I'm so disgustingly flu-ey, I envy you and your pretty-dress-wearing-ways >.<
ReplyDeleteNew plan: next time Boyfriend is all "oh I love planes" you should suggest he get it for you.
ReplyDeleteI ADORE the Wright Dress and also recently purchased it! I love how you belted it... I think that might be the fix for my one issue with the dress... which is that one red plane that seems to fly right under my left boob! I think the belt draws my eye away from that pesky plane! Great styling!
ReplyDeleteI despise ironing, I even gave away my iron because I was tired of looking at it. I refuse to iron!
ReplyDeleteLove this dress, it's so cute on you. It definitely worth the money if you love it and will wear it.
That dress is gorgeous on you and that print is super-adorable. I work in aviation, so that dress makes me smile all day long.
ReplyDeleteYou look so adorable and love the way you styled it. Did you take your normal size 4 (I think you wear 4 or smaller?). I'm a solid 4 in JCrew dresses but haven't tried Anthro dresses...
ReplyDeleteit looks so adorable on you! I tried it on in the stores but felt like it made me look like a toddler so I ended up getting the fifth form shift and blazing rays dress instead
ReplyDeleteLove it on you. And I am really liking how you pair the tights with open toe sandals. I am tempted to try this myself when it gets a teeny bit warmer.
ReplyDeleteI love that dress. It's so cute and it seems so Spring-y that I'm dying for Spring to come so I can break out my own collection of dresses. Right now it's currently snowing outside my window. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteE Hayes - You can never go wrong with navy to match! I have a navy blazer that I can pair with the dress, now that you mention it...
ReplyDeleteEleanor-Shopping The Closet - Thanks! The planes are a fun touch to an otherwise ordinary dress.
Tara B - Ugh, I'm sorry that you're flu-y! I hope you kick those germs to the curb! Come onnnn Tara's immune system!
sarah - Oh, believe me, I did. But when YOU'RE the sugar mama, the chances of that happening are slim to none.
Kate - Eek, I never thought of an ill-placed plane issue before, haha! Definitely try it belted to cover up that rogue plane!
Summerilla - Yes, I'm going to give you a virtual HIGH FIVE for being a fellow iron-hater! I despise ironing. SO MUCH.
Lisa - You work in aviation? That's so awesome! My little brother wants to be a pilot, so he was amused by the dress too!
jcrewphd - Yes, I took my normal size 4 in the dress. The sizing is similar between J.Crew and Anthro, I would say, since I wear a size 4 in both stores. Hope that helps!
Mrs.LifeAccounts - Thanks! Sorry that the dress didn't work for you, but the ones you got are beeeeautiful too! I can usually pull off "kiddy" prints I think because I look like a kid (haha) but I know what you mean about looking too juvenile!
e. - Do try it! I've been wearing tights with open-toed shoes forever, but mainly because I don't own a lot of close-toed heels, haha!
Stephanie - Ugh, snow STILL? I'd be so sick of it! I'll be wishing for spring to head your way so that you can frolic in some pretty dresses!
I had a sneaky suspicion you ended up getting this dress. Not only is it really you, but you looked super-duper happy with it on. Great job BF on picking it out!!
ReplyDeleteThe whole outfit looks perfect, I just love it. The shoes were just a great buy as they go with every.single.thing!
Love the dress. The different colored planes make it stand out.
ReplyDeleteWow--LOVE this dress. The blazer and belt are so perfect with it. Might have to try this one on/pray for a sale next time I'm at Anthro!
ReplyDeleteLOL, your posts always make me smile. You look *awesome* in that dress, and haha, I too would be unable to buy a pretty dress if my boyfriend was moved enough to give me a compliment in it and told me I needed it (he usually just shrugs and says, "oh it looks nice but don't you have a lot of dresses already?" pfft!) And I am allergic to my iron, so absolutely no wrinkle-judgement here ;)
ReplyDeletethe bf took you to anthropologie before dinner? he's a keeper!!!! gosh i am so jealous ;)
ReplyDeleteyay yay! you got the dress. What a great/whimsical buy. And yes to bf's being enablers! They are the best ones.
ReplyDeleteI have those tights! Now all I need is my own wright dress to go with them! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love your little bomber jacket with the plane print. Too cute!
So cute!! That dress is perfect on you!
ReplyDeleteCaroline
i remember when you tried on that cute dress!!! glad that you are enjoying it, and the shoes are lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG. You bought THE dress. It's so adorable - I've seen it a few times and I can see why it was irresistable. LOVE.
ReplyDeleteToo cute! I wish I could get away with strapless dresses - I love them but they don't love me.
ReplyDeleteyay, I knew that dress would look great with your dvf jacket! :D
ReplyDeleteLove the dress on you and how you paired it with a bomber jacket! Sometimes you just gotta suck it up and pay full price even though it hurts.
ReplyDeletei'm so glad you got it, it looks super cute on you! i saw it again in the store yesterday and thought of you, yay!
ReplyDeleteHey there. I'm interested in buying this dress you are selling on lizs blog. Would you be willing to go any less than 110?
