death of a (monochromatic corset) dress

Oh, readers. Today is a sad day. Today is a day where I was completely zombie-d out and absent mindedly threw my beloved Monochromatic Corset Dress into the wash only to realize my horrifying error after I found its shrunken and rumpled corpse buried underneath newly cleaned towels and gym clothes. So that's that. Good bye, lovely dress.

This is also evidence that I need to get two separate laundry baskets: one for regular machine-friendly clothing, and another for "Dry Clean Only" items. Sigh. Hindsight.

  1. Oh, it's such a lovely dress. I'm sorry and share with you in your grief. i have done the same thing and know how painful it is to see a much loved item of clothing ruined. Have you considered trying to find another one one ebay?

  2. I hate it when something gets ruined...it's like failing or losing when you want to win.

I'm with you in your mourning....

  3. OH NO Amy.Kelinda!!! What a sad day it is!!! So sorry this happened and know that if you ever locate it at a store, it should only cost you $10 (that's how much mine cost) so I truly hope you find it or it pops up on the catalog!! Such a shame because you looked gorgeous in it.

  4. doesn't it just royally suck when you ruin or lose something you dearly love like that. I am still mouring the loss or a great big summer straw hat that was somehow lost in our move to the new house. I never even got to wear it! :(

  6. I'm really sorry to hear about your dress - I've done stuff like that before to Dry Clean only clothes and have been majorly bummed out.
Hope you're able to find a replacement.

  8. Oh no ... we need a moment of silence for that beautiful dress!

I've done TWICE before with a lovely tunic, which became a lovely top, which is now a not-so-lovely belly shirt.
