Oh, readers. Today is a sad day. Today is a day where I was completely zombie-d out and absent mindedly threw my beloved Monochromatic Corset Dress into the wash only to realize my horrifying error after I found its shrunken and rumpled corpse buried underneath newly cleaned towels and gym clothes. So that's that. Good bye, lovely dress.
This is also evidence that I need to get two separate laundry baskets: one for regular machine-friendly clothing, and another for "Dry Clean Only" items. Sigh. Hindsight.
Oh, it's such a lovely dress. I'm sorry and share with you in your grief. i have done the same thing and know how painful it is to see a much loved item of clothing ruined. Have you considered trying to find another one one ebay?
ReplyDeleteI hate it when something gets ruined...it's like failing or losing when you want to win.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you in your mourning....
OH NO Amy.Kelinda!!! What a sad day it is!!! So sorry this happened and know that if you ever locate it at a store, it should only cost you $10 (that's how much mine cost) so I truly hope you find it or it pops up on the catalog!! Such a shame because you looked gorgeous in it.
ReplyDeletedoesn't it just royally suck when you ruin or lose something you dearly love like that. I am still mouring the loss or a great big summer straw hat that was somehow lost in our move to the new house. I never even got to wear it! :(
ReplyDeleteI think I'm about to cry. I'm so sorry for your loss. The dress looked fantastic on you.
ReplyDeleteI'm really sorry to hear about your dress - I've done stuff like that before to Dry Clean only clothes and have been majorly bummed out.
ReplyDeleteHope you're able to find a replacement.
RIP! That dress was beautiful - maybe eBay????
ReplyDeleteOh no ... we need a moment of silence for that beautiful dress!
ReplyDeleteI've done TWICE before with a lovely tunic, which became a lovely top, which is now a not-so-lovely belly shirt.
Nooooo! I'm so sad for you. I have a "dry clean only" basket, but that stuff never gets clean...
ReplyDeleteOh nooooooooooooooooooo!!! How truly horrible! What a sad ending to a beautiful dress :'( I'm so sorry!
ReplyDeleteoh that is truly depressing. So sorry for your loss...
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your dress! At least it had one great season!
ReplyDeleteOh no! RIP, cute dress.
ReplyDelete:( The dress is dead...long live the dress.
ReplyDeleteboo! so sorry for you. :(
ReplyDeleteoh noooo! i rarely comment here, but i do read your blog regularly and i think that dress looked so great on you. i'm so very sorry! maybe it will show up on e-bay...i had a 'built by wendy' dress machine-washed on accident and to this day i still get depressed thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteoh noes! that sucks. :-/
ReplyDeleteoh noooo!!! i'm sorry that really sucks
ReplyDeletemy sister has a habit of throwing dry clean only stuff into the wash, i tend to catch it before i throw it in though.
I am so sorry sweetie! That SUCKS.
ReplyDeleteNow I am paranoid about ME doing something like this- it'd be just the kind of thing for me to do...
omg i'm so sad for you! hopefully you'll find another to replace it...i'll keep my eyes out!
