the spring witch

Whew. I just got back from a 3-day trip to Boston (or, 1.5 days in Boston with 1.5 days of travelling) for a conference and boy am I glad to be home. Not because I don't love Boston (because I do!), but because plane trips just take it out of me. Even though all you do is sit when you're on a plane, it's still incredibly tiring. I couldn't tell you why.

Oh wait, yes I can — it's because being crammed in a tiny seat for 4.5 hours next to people who don't understand the concept of keeping their elbows to themselves so that you can actually nap without waking up every 5 minutes from a bony jab to the ribs and/or head (this actually happened) is vexing, and being vexed for extended periods of time is exhausting.

Air travel is a lot less fun now that I'm all grown up. Maybe because now I know that Disney World isn't at the end of the flight.

But anyhoodle, here's a little something I wore the week before my trip...

  1. I haven't been on a plane in about 3 years, and boy do I miss it! Yes, I agree with everything you said but I still miss it somehow. I've always had a thing for planes ;)

I love your new short hair. I think I already told you that, but I have to say it again!

  4. Your nails are so cute. I love your look here. It *is* a little witchy, but in a Stevie Nicks way. Good stuff.

  5. I love the silhouette of this, with the long sweater and shorter, full dress! And I must have missed the haircut before- wowza! I was a huge fan of your long locks, but this length suits you beautifully too! It's such a nice shape!

  6. You cut your hair! Ugh, I'm just now catching up on major blog reading from this past month, blah. But your hair! I love it! I always feel *so* tempted to chop my hair off when spring comes around.

Flying IS tiring, I think it's the whole get-to-the-airport-2-hours-early, shuffle through security lines, shuffle to your plane, shuffle on to the plane, shuffle off the plane, shuffle to get your bags, shuffle to where ever it is that you're going. It seems like it should be so easy, but IT TAKES SO MUCH TIME. Bah. :(

  7. lool, American airlines are so tiny and an interesting experience to say the least. I'm planning to visit my bff @ Harvard in a month and already preparing myself for another fun ride.
