to snuggie or not to snuggie

There's a gale outside, it seems. I was doing just fine walking from the parking garage to the office until the wind turned normal rain into the annoying "ha-HA!-I'm-coming-up-from-under-your-umbrella" horizontal rain. GRRRRR.

Striped tee, J.Crew
White cami, Cotton On
Cambridge cable pocket cardigan, J.Crew [x]
Black skinny jeans, Earnest Sewn
Bonnie Midstrap boots, Frye
Black slouch beret, Urban Outfitters
Red bow pin, thrifted
Elephant ring, F21 + Blue stone ring, Kohls

On the bright side, it is finally Friday! FRIDAY!!! My friend's little brother's birthday is this Monday, and the BF came up with the great idea to get him a Snuggie. There's a big inside joke in our circle involving those things. So I was at Target all ready to put it into my basket when READERS... I could... not... do... it! I was seized with a sudden sense of embarrassment for even considering buying something that is essentially a backwards robe. (even if it does come with a free book light) Ridiculous. So now I have to come up with something else for the soon-to-be-18-year-old.

18?! They grow up so fast.

Have a good weekend!

  1. I like the idea of a snuggie (and wish I had invented it! lol) but I don't plan on spending money on one. However, if Santa were to bring me one for Christmas, that'd be another story :) Enjoy your weekend!

  2. Haha...I have a "knock-off" snuggie and actually like it. I don't walk around in it or anything...

Speaking of...If you make fun of Snuggies, you MUST run over to YouTube right now and type in "wtf blanket"--it is a spoof on the snuggie commericials and is freakin' hilarious. OMG. Enjoy :)

  5. I actually entered some giveaway to get a free snuggie, I've yet to see it in the mail box though. I just can't get myself to spend money on one BUT a free one sounded do able.

  6. snuggies are funny - I secretly kind of want one but I'm not willing to spend money for it. Right now I have jury duty and the courtroom is always freezing, I was just thinking yesterday how funny it would be to walk in and pull out a snuggie.

  7. haha, you're too funny about snuggies...it looks kind of funny but I bet they are cozy.

I think time flies when you become an adult. I saw my cousin recently and couldn't believe how tall he had gotten cause he used to be so tiny.. :-)

  12. The hat with the bow is adorable! I bought Seashell the zebra snuggy, with the reading light. I do keep the house on the cool side and she has it on all the time! She says buy it!

  14. I love the bow on your hat. So cute. And so is your outfit.

I don't even type the S word. If I do, I start getting a lot of advertisements from them.

  16. In my communications class, we had to write a 'Sales Pitch' for an item, but we had to be serious about it. I choose the Snuggie and had the professor nearly in tears (of laughter!) by the end. It was pretty intese. :)

  18. Love the outfit, as always. There is just something about a striped tee that just always works!

I couldn't get myself to buy a snuggie either, the ads are so terrible and it seems as taboo as the flowbee!

  19. LOL...that is too hilarious...couldn't go through with it, huh? They sell snuggies for puppies too! wtf! And I saw them at our CVS made in the logo of our football team!! Crazy!

  21. LOL, I would never spend actual money on a Snuggie either. However, I went with my father on a Costco run the other month and convinced him to buy it as a "blanket for the house." I would let you know how it is, but I'm still too ashamed to take it out of the packaging ;)
