Readers, I am working from home today as I recover from some fit my stomach is pitching. I'm sure my coworkers are happy that I'm not there in the office, spreading my germs around like an inebriated New Year's Eve reveler with access to a bucket of confetti. Germy, germy confetti.
So, rather than show off my sweet outfit of dinosaur-print pajama pants and giant Boston University t-shirt, here's a previously unposted outfit:
'iceland air' sweater dress, free people [x]
black tights + black diamond tights, hue + modcloth
cummerbund belt, anthropologie
'allie' flats, bcbg
ring, f21
This dress was love at first sight. I spied it while shopping for my holiday party dress and it ended up coming home with me because I am weak-willed. Don't judge me. It definitely has a pretty hippie/flower child vibe to it, which is probably due to the wonderful sleeves and light sweater-knit texture. Beware, though, if you are of a normal height and not as fun-sized as I -- this dress is short.
Finally, I want to give another shout-out to Tara B's "12 Days of Christmas" feature on Little Girl Big Closet. Yesterday was an astonishingly lovely vignette from Kathryn and Carol, and today is Lisa's ridiculously adorable take on "3 French hens"! Accccccck, I love it!
It is so freaking adorable! I love sweater dresses. You're too hilarious with your "fun sized" comment.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you come up with the for Tara's special bonanza!
This is a very cool sweater dress. When I think of sweater dresses I think of mono-tones, turtlenecks, and straight lines. This dress is none of these things. I love it! And nevermind how much I love your red walls and overall household decor. Where on earth did you get that awesome area rug?

I love all of the patterns going on with the dress and belt. You look very cute in this.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to enjoy my commute now because whenever someone coughs up a long, I'm going to picture them coughing rainbow confetti. :)
Unless they cough on me, then I'm just going to be pissed, lol.
Oh AmyK,I hope your tummy feels better soon! Many hugs. I love this dress, by the way- it reminds me of Bavarian folk tales. You look lovely ^^
ReplyDeleteps: Thanks for the shout-out :D
ReplyDeleteIt's so great to see all the creative things everyone's coming up with- I'm really getting a kick out of this!

ReplyDeleteAnd I definately see why this dress came home with you. I love the patterns and style of it. It looks so perfect for winter.
AmyK, I totally tried on this dress at FP while in Boston and concur that it was way too short on my 5'7 frame, however on you, super-duper cute and oh so flattering. I love how well it goes with the Anthro belt, meant to be!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon and really looking forward to your post on Tara B.'s feature!!
That is one fabulous dress!!! Looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon! Getting sick during the holidays is the pits!
Shout out to Boston University! I'm an alum too!
ReplyDeleteCute dress!
I hope you are feeling better soon! I'm sure this crazy weather we're having doesn't help :)
ReplyDeleteThe word fun-sized made me laugh! I love this dress. I am glad I know not to hunt it down for myself though. (I am about 5'7")
ReplyDeleteLOL at "fun sized". Not only am I "fun sized", I'm also (proportionally) short limbed. Makes for some interesting try-on's lemmetellya. Get well soon! Half my office has been stricken with some bug too... Get rested and hydrate yourself!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! I love sweater dresses...unfortunately in most circumstances for me, they're simply too short. Boo. I'm 5'6 and 3/4 legs, which screams inappropriate...if I was 3, no problem. Ha. It looks adorable on you and super comfy. Hope you're feeling better ~ I'm on Day 8 of feeling miserable and FINALLY got antibiotics from my doctor. Whew. ~ Susan
ReplyDeleteThat dress is adorable. I am also weak willed and ended up doing the "one for them, two for me" when I was out buying Christmas gifts. Oh, well, we are doing out part to stimulate the economy. I hope you are feeling better and enjoying your weekend.
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I was like I am ordering this dress, but then I saw it was short. :(
ReplyDeleteThis is really cute...I love the prints!
