OLD MAN CARDIGAN

The holidays are officially here, readers. I am going to my company's holiday party tomorrow, which should prove to be fun! I'll post about my experience in the first holiday par-tay outfit of this year on Monday, woo hoo! One event down, 4 more to go...

Today I'm wearing my nice comfy cardigan, which is looking especially old man-ish with the cords and the checkered shirt. I couldn't tell you why, but I like it. Sometimes I think I must have been a very old man in a previous life because I tend to like old man things, like maps, cabbage stew, and shouting at children to get off my lawn.

cable knit cardigan, j.crew
buffalo-check shirt, j.crew [x-ish]
toothpick cords, j.crew [x]
'towny' boots, guess [x]
leather men's belt, american eagle
pave heart ring, coach

And before I leave you all for the weekend, here's a glimpse at our Christmas tree:

We haven't found the perfect star yet, so for now it's just a big plaid bow on top. But the good news is, there are already some presents under the tree!

Have a good weekend, everyone!

You beat me by 1, heh. Can't wait to see your outfit(s)! Your tree is beautiful! I'm setting mine up this weekend. Yay!

  2. I love that you like "old man" type things, like yelling at children to get off your lawn. That made me giggle. :) Your tree is so pretty! Do you already know what most of those presents are? :)

  6. I look forward to seeing what you wear to your first holiday party. I know you were trying to figure out what dress for what ocassion a little while ago. My company's Christmas party is tonight and that's probably the only time I'll be getting fancy.

I like the gray plaid with the coral cardigan. Nice color combo!! I saw a similar shirt in the J Crew outlet and was so tempted to buy it, but I have the hardest time figuring out how to work that print.

  7. Amy, I spent hours yesterday looking for pretty ornaments. I'd love to get my hands on some of the stars you have there! We are having a crafts day this weekend to make some of our own.

I love that coral pink on you. You seriously have a great collection of cardigans.

I love that style of cardigan and the coral color looks great on you. I have a JCrew "grandpa" cardi I put on the second I get home!

  16. I love the sweater-- great color and looks very comfy! Cute tree as well! Makes me wish we had room for a tree this year. Last year, I couldn't find the perfect star to top off my tree so ended up making one! It's amazing what you can do with cardboard and tin foil! lol

  18. The tree topper is a hard one for me too. I never can find the perfect one. I love your idea of using a bow. As always, I love your outfit. I have a couple of the cable cardigans....love them, and I agree they have a cozy, kinda of grandpa feel to them.

  19. We found a star that resembles a jack, as in jacks that you play with. I think it's supposed to rest on a flat surface, but we wonk it on the try somehow each year. You're creative. You've done great so far and will find something you like even more. Your tree looks great!
