On this day, I felt compelled to wear these yellow tights. I felt determined. I was going to conquer the completely irrational fear that these yellow tights stirred up in the far reaches of my feeble mind. Also, I needed to reassure myself that I did not spend $10 on these things just to have them sit neglected while all of their colorful brothers and sisters are worn, washed, and returned to the AmyK Tights Bin.

leatherette accent belt, f21 [x]

I have had these tights on for approximately 4 hours and 36 minutes now and I still do not feel self-conscious. Yellow tights phobia, consider yourself conquered.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
I have an irrational feel of coloured tights, and my repeated attempts at wearing blue, red or yellow have resulted in failure. (ie: could not stop feeling self-concious).
ReplyDeleteGood for you for conquering it! You look super cute.
You look *awesome* Amy! Yay for having the confidence to bust those out! I find my yellow tights are some of my toughest to wear too ;)
ReplyDeleteI think you ROCKED these tights! I have yellow tights, too, and I think I've worn them 4 times. Maybe 2x without looking ridiculous. Maybe.
ReplyDeleteFears were for naught! This outfit is awesome!!! The yellow tights are so cool! I totally want to buy a pair now. I think there's still room in my own tights bin, too :-)
ReplyDeleteThese tights really look great! I love the way you paired black and white to make this color work. I'll probably try that out myself...
ReplyDeleteLove the dress and the tights! Also, I have some serious Jenna's Cardigan love. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the yellow tights!!!! I am about to wear a pair of red ones next week.
ReplyDeleteFacing fashion fears is the best/worst feeling in the world! But I have to tell you, the yellow tights look absolutely amazing with that dress. Sometimes I hate wearing all black, feeling like I need something to brighten things up a bit. The yellow absolutely took that outfit from pretty, to pretty amazing!
ReplyDeleteYay Amy, love it!

I love it!! You are encouraging me to try things I am not comfortable with! I think you totally pulled it off and look amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove it! You rock!!! Way to go on stepping outside your comfort zone...they look so cute with that whole outfit!
ReplyDeleteIt does look great... on you! :) ha
ReplyDeleteI'm slowly getting there. I got some purple and teal green tights this winter so that's a step in the right direction for me. I'm so plain jane sometimes :)
Wow, what an outfit. I am in love with those tights. You really rock it today Amy!
ReplyDeleteI think as long as the rest of the outfit isn't too crazy, you can totally pull off the yellow tights! Great job with sticking to the black and white color scheme and using the tights as a pop of color :) I'm scared of colored tights, I always see them on others and thing they are adorable, but hate them on myself!
ReplyDeleteYou are too cute! I wouldn't think big bird at all with the tights, just because the rest of the outfit is so well balanced. I have that same ring from F21 and when I was going through security at the airport the alarm went off because of the ring!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment today, it made me smile :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tara, the tights are the perfect accent to a black and white outfit. And this dress is dynamite. I can't believe it's thifted! I've never seen a dress like this in a thrift store before!

ReplyDeleteI love the yellow tights! I never would have thought big bird ;)
ReplyDeleteHahaha, i had to laugh at this post title. Big bird legs! Aww, i think you pulled off the yellow tights with aplomb Amy. Coloured tights is something i have yet to try!
ReplyDeletelol! You're too cute Amy. You pulled it off! I wouldn't say Big Bird legs, yours are more like Chicken Little legs, and Chicken Little legs are a chirping good thing! Seriously, you make me wanna run out and buy a pair of yellow tights!
ReplyDeletecolored tights are so hard to pull off, but you did it well! love the color combo. I would never have thought about yellow tights. you look great!
ReplyDeleteYou're definitely rockin the yellow tights today! I've been searching for a pair in stores for months now, but haven't had any luck, so I'll have to live vicariously through you :)

ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog and I've to stay I LOVE your header and you are totally adorable.
Oh you look so cute! I have fear of coloured tights in general, but I am staring down my mustard yellow LEC cargos (from last summer) working up the courage to wear them more this spring/summer. Great outfit!
ReplyDeleteyou totally pulled it off! :) they are such a bright and cheery hue, definitely not something to be self conscious about
ReplyDeleteYou pulled this off to the "t". I love it! I think having the tights in the right shade of yellow is the key. I've been wanting one of the Jenna cardigans, but haven't taken the plunge. I must add one to my shopping cart. You look adorable.
ReplyDeleteI am saving this look immediately into my "inspiration" folder! No one could have worn it better! It looks fantastic because you incredibly chose the right print and color combo for it. I would have had a very hard time figuring out what colors or prints to pair it with. Love, love, love!
ReplyDeletelove the legs!
