ain't no companion like a blue-eyed merle

I feel like the UPS guy would know me a little too well by now if I was actually home to pick up all the J.Crew packages that are constantly coming to my door. I have a problem, folks. I used to be a lot worse. Those boxes you see hastily stacked in my closet? Remnants of dark days, those are. I mean, I used to get several packages a week, and not all from J.Crew, mind you. Now I'm down to about one every 2 weeks. That's progress, right?

Don't judge me.

Anyway, I got my Cambridge Cable Pocket cardigan from J.Crew's 20% off promotion last week, and I love it! There were only size mediums left (I'm usually a XS-S), but I'm liking the loose sweater look of this size. The heather salmon color is just lovely, but it's less salmon-y and more like a bright pumpkin orange with just the slightest hint of pink. Maybe it should have been called "Bashful Pumpkin" instead. (clearly there's a reason I don't work in the 'name this color' industry)

You can see the tear on my garland cami in this picture. Sad. I'm pretty rough with my clothes.

Poor silk gladiola cami. I have an old jc silk skirt that I ripped the snap buttons off one day when I was changing. whoops.

  4. The UPS man knows my name, too. He even recognizes me in town. However, my town is small. I love that garland cami. I am still hoping that one will be available on ebay when spring rolls around again.

  7. LOL my UPS guy is on a first name basis with me and even makes small talk at this point. I even know where he's spending the holidays and what his route is. Sign of a problem? Hmmm.
Anyhow, love the color combo today and I need that belt!

  9. My UPS guy in my work building knows me from all of my personal packages and always waves and talks to me even when I don't have a package. I like to think of it as stimulating the economy.

  10. You are not alone (as you can tell). My UPS driver and I are good friends now. I go through phases where I have 1 to 3 packages a week and others (like right now) when it may be 2 or 3 a month.

Love the garland cami on you, I noticed ATL has their version in stores now (big suprise) and that Mod Cloth Belt is a great addition, love the vintage feel it has!

  11. Bashful Pumpkin! Love it. :) I think the only thing that keeps me from ordering more online is shipping fees. I am scroogey about that stuff. I like that belt—I've been looking for a skinny belt...

  13. Ok two things:
    1) we need to "talk" about your bow belt. And by talk I mean you mailing it to me as a present.

    2) get that gorgeous cami to a tailor! They can totally fix that :)

  15. Cute! I love the combo of yellow + corally pink. I'm going to pair my toffee silk cami with the new coral J Crew cardigan I had on my blog yesterday soon. So excited.

I totally feel judged by the UPS guy. He now throws the packages at the door AND doesn't ring the doorbell. HARRUMPH.

(I guess you really don't need to ring the doorbell when I get something every day, though. Heh. Oops.)

  16. That combo is darling! I have that cami and never even thought of pairing it with that color! I have a portland cardi in a similar color and am definately going to try that out!

Oh, I know about the UPS thing. Between me and my neighbor (who buys EVERYTHING online), we joke that UPS should just set up a substation on our block!!

  19. Is it strange that I have a deep love for cable knit? I love it, and the particular cable knit you're rocking is great.

Ohhhh, packages. I live in an apartment and I have to go to the front desk if UPS leaves a sticker on my door or if I get a slip in my mailbox. The lady who works there knows me and my apartment number (and James' name since he orders stuff too) by heart. Whatever, I like making friends :)

  20. I've met a few peeps who "name colors" for a living and Bashful pumpkin is waaaay better than any of the drivel they come up with! :)

I love this color combo and OMG your belt is superb!

  22. When I used to live at my old apartment, my UPS guy knew me so well that he would wave to me as I walked on the street in a completely different part of town and stop and ask me if I wanted my package now. Embarrassing.

LOL @ down to 2 packages a week. I'm not any better than you, dont' worry :)
