flights of fancy

It's been a tough few days for me, readers. I've been battling stress-induced illnesses on and off, which doesn't really do much to help with the whole "stressed out" business. All in all, I've been a busy little bee (at work and at home, geez) who hasn't had a chance to recharge her batteries and that is seriously taking its toll: mentally, physically, and emotionally. I am going to be so glad once my May week-long vacation to San Antonio rolls around. Is it sad that the thing I'm looking forward to the most on the trip is not exploring the city, strolling on the Riverwalk, or visiting Sea World, but is the one day that Boyfriend and I set aside to do absolutely nothing but be lazy in the hotel all day? That probably says something about my mental state right now, ha!

I'm sorry that I haven't been commenting on your blogs as often as I usually do. I'm going to put in my best efforts to visit all of you lovely bloggers who always manage to bring a smile to my face.

Now, a more cheery OOTD to lighten the mood:

white cami, gap
yellow cardigan, gap [x-ish]
landing fields skirt, anthropologie
wide belt, calvin klein
joley flats, j.crew [x-ish] [x-ish]
time teller p watch, nixon [x]

  1. Sorry you're feeling so stressed out. Sometimes in the middle of the madness, you've got to go to a quiet place and chill out for five minutes. When I used to work in an office environment, I always made sure I went out for lunch, regardless of whether I was going to a restaurant or sitting on a park bench. It's nice to have a few free minutes to de-stress. Don't forget to do that!

At least you can look completely adorable while you're stressed though - I love the bright yellow/teal combo.

I never thought to pair a yellow cardigan with this skirt. I love it! I will definitely have to try this in the future!

  19. The skirt looked like a poka dots on a first glance, but then I looked closer and I saw they were leaves/flowers? Very pretty and fun. Gorgeous outfit. Vacation is always nice, hope you get a good rest. We are going to Jamaica end of May and I fully intent on being just a beach bum for a few days.

  21. The first day of a vacation should be spend doing nothing. It takes a second to work into relaxation mode.

Your post is going up on my blog at 6am PST, Thursday -- if the auto post cooperates. :-)

  22. Whooo...that code & Blogger were giving me a hard time. I realize I am *not* crazy. It was adding in extra stuff, so if you have already seen the post, visit again. I corrected some of the issues.
