ANTHRO REVIEWS

Hello hello! Popping in over the weekend to put up some new reviews that a few ladies may find useful.

So here's the outfit:

And here are the pieces:

Jeweler's Choice Cardigan, $148:

YAY. I know this is on the wishlist of many (including mine!), and let me just say that I can see why! This cardigan is every bit as beautiful as it appears online. The beading detail is absolutely stunning, and even though it reads as reddish in my pictures, it is actually a nice coral hue. I was worried at first that the beading detail would be overwhelming, but it's a nice size that adds a pop of pizazz to an otherwise straight-forward cardigan without being too over-the-top. I can definitely see this working with a variety of outfits effortlessly. The knit is slightly scratchy on my sensitive skin, but it's nothing intolerable. I'm wearing my regular size in this photo and the buttons are pulling, but it's mostly because I've kind of -- gulp -- put on a few pounds recently, so I'd wager that if I were my regular size, there wouldn't be a button-pulling issue. All in all, it runs TTS and a winner! I'm stalking this and crossing my fingers that it'll make it to the sales rack!

YAY. This little number didn't catch my eye at all online, but in stores, the bright colors and canvas-y material just called my name. It did not disappoint! The skirt is fun, and its light material makes it a perfect summer skirt while the colors make it easy to "autumn/winter-ize." On my 5'3" frame, the skirt hit about 2 inches from my knees, which is the perfect mini length for me, but taller gals may need to see for themselves whether this is too mini or not. I'd say this fits TTS. I can imagine wearing it with a utilitarian jacket and white v-neck tee, or with a nice gingham button-down for some awesome pattern mixing. Waiting for a sale!

As always, leave any questions you may have in the comments or e-mail me. Have a great rest of the weekend!

  4. Ahhhh. That cardi looks fantastic on you! It's one of the top items on my wishlist and I'm really hoping it makes it to sale. Very cute skirt too, but I'm worried it may be too short for me (I'm 5'7"). But it looks adorable on you! :)

  6. Amy, isn't this cardi to die for? I'm absolutely smitten. Looks gorgeous on you too, of course. Just wish I could handle the price tag. Maybe I'll happen to stumble upon a hundred dollar bill on the street this afternoon. Keeping my fingers crossed!

  7. Oh my goodness, I am loving that cardigan! The coral really adds a special touch to it. I'm just a tad taller than you, so the skirt might still work on me... it's really cute!

  8. Thanks 4 these reviews! I missed that skirt when I was at Anthro, and I really like how it looks on you. Such a fun skirt and it can be paired with lots of different tops. And that cardi matched with that skirt is just perfect! :)

  9. I love both of these pieces! Especially together. The beading detail on the cardigan is spectacular. It's like wearing a necklace, which is good for me because I'm not very good with the jewellry. And I love the pattern and colours on the skirt. You're so right that it is perfect for summer and easily winterized. I may have to try this skirt on myself and see how short it is on my 5'9" frame.

  10. Actually I never considered the jeweler's choice cardi but the close up pic from you is giving me second thoughts - I love the heathered/marled brown knit and that coral-y red is a perfect complement!

  14. They both look really cute on you, I especially love how they each have fun and interest. I don't think I gave that cardi a glance, but that coral collar detailing is making me want to check it out.
I have a bday discount and a gc to use, so something new will be going home with me soon from Anthro. :)
