LONG LENGTHS ON A SHORT GIRL

Since I stopped posting last week, the following has occurred:
  • I got sick.
  • I saw nary a snowflake during Snowpocalypse 2011.
  • I celebrated Chinese New Year with the family over dim sum and red envelopes.
  • I bought a new toothbrush.
All highlights, I assure you. My life is exciting.

I also decided to wear this new skirt, though it is thin and summer weight and therefore probably better suited for warmer temperatures, but when have I ever let common sense stop me?

confetti top, f21 [x]
long cardigan, gap [x-ish]
daylight savings skirt, modcloth [x]
studded belt, j.crew
black flats, urban outfitters [x]
monocle necklace, gift
skull ring, ebay
gold bangle, kate spade

In retrospect, I probably should have worn this skirt with some taller shoes like my wedge sandals. Next time, next time...

I'm in love with full-length skirts at the moment and I know this one will be out in regular rotation once spring/summer rolls around. Without the long cardigan, I may be able to pull it off with flat sandals, too... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Are there any items you're looking forward to wearing once it starts warming up?

  1. I love that skirt! I desperately need to find a maxi.

I honestly haven't even started thinking about spring clothes yet...probably because I live in Florida and it's not all that cold here.

  2. OMG, I LOOOOOVE THAT SKIRT! I would immediately copy you and buy it right now if I was certain it wouldn't be knee length on me. The maxi dress/skirt trend is killer on us tall girlies :)

  17. Hola Kelinda!
This snow in Texas is no joke, lol!
That skirt is wonderful! I really like the colors. It looks warm; The monocle necklace is really nifty. This is my first time seeing a piece like that.

When it gets warmer, I can't wait to wear more skirts. Something about the cold doesn't give me enough motivation to do so.

  18. Okay, I think I'm officially F21 stunted, because that top looks FABULOUS on you, and I NEVER see stuff like that when I go there.

You are totally rocking that maxi skirt. Great work!

I am really looking forward to wearing suede shoes once this slush gets off the ground...although I guess then I'll have to worry about rain...

  20. I'm really just looking forward to wear shorts and sandals outside, rather than having to bundle up with 3+ layers!

  21. That skirt is great!! Love it!

I am just excited to step outside without having to add 3 layers and a coat to my outfit. This whole below freezing weather gets old fast.

How do you always find such cute stuff at Forever 21? I need tips on how to shop that store because I always get overwhelmed and leave empty handed :/

  23. I've been on the hunt for a cute skirt - I may be trying that one on! Does that skirt have an elastic waist? If it does, you can always wear as a tube top and belt it for some shape. It would super cute as a flared dress with the detailing at the bottom and a good transition into spring/summer :)

Well, it's summer here at the moment in oz, although sadly only a few weeks left of it. I'm going to miss wearing dresses sans cardis, tights and boots....
