it's a sweater cape poncho thing

I didn't end up seeing The Green Lantern last weekend because Boyfriend admitted that it looked pretty terrible. We'll Netflix it one day, which is my preferred method of watching potentially terrible movies. At least then I won't feel like the movie studios tricked me into spending $20 on cinematic garbage.

I'm still mad about the time I paid to see Transformers 2. The first one was fun enough, but the second one was completely inane. I mean, Optimus Prime is all "Sam, the Decepticons are coming and they're going to bomb/enslave/Transformerize all of humanity!" and Shia LaPoof's response is, "But wehhhhh, I want to go to college!"

Seriously? Priorities, people.

And now, onto something completely different:

sweater, anthropologie
vintage cotton v-neck tee, j.crew (now an extra 30% off!)
skinny black jeans, j.crew
sandals, mossimo
ring, from australia

I don't remember what this sweater cape poncho thing was called, but I got it from Anthropologie's sale section about 3 weeks ago. It's so weird and strangely 80s with its colored geometric print, and I just love it! Not to mention that it's insanely soft and comfortable.

One of my coworkers put it best when she said, "I love your sweater... wrap... wait, what is that?"

  2. Great poncho, the colors are so cute!
I still regret paying the discount rate for Transformers 2...it might have been the worst movie I've seen in a theater.

  3. I am going to send this post to my hubby to give him a chuckle. Just this week, he and Rex saw Transformers 2 on netflix, and he has also decided the Green Lantern isn't worth it. :)

I love ponchos, but can I just laugh at the fact that you have that on in June? How are you not dying of heat overexposure???

  4. Is it really that cold where you are that you can wear a poncho sweater cape thing?

  5. dina -- I have it on comfortably because while it's 101 degrees outside, it's 60 degrees in my office! Brrrrr!

  6. PinkSass -- only in the office is it possible to wear a sweater cape poncho thing. That's why I have a regular ol' v-neck tee underneath for my life outside of the office, haha!

  7. LOL - I agree that bad movies are best for watching at home. That way you can make fun of the dialogue as loud as you want ;)

I love the poncho - great colors and it's perfect for layering up when it's freezing inside but insanely hot outside.

  8. I love that poncho!! Such pretty colors and it is just one of those pieces that has personality.

I read a bad review for The Green Latern so that will not be on my must-see movie list. I used to love going to the movies, but I find it hard to spend good money these days on bad movies. I think the majority of films out there can wait for Netflix viewing.

It's been years since Ive had a desire to go see a movie in theater. The film industry is slowly sinking.

  10. I love this sweater poncho thingy it's super cute and can take you into the other seasons. Also, even though I LOVE me some Ryan Reynolds that movie didn't look like a 10 so I would definitely save your money for something worth it.

  11. Is that Essie's Turquoie and Caicos on your nails (I probably butchered the spelling of that name)? It's at the top of my list of polishes to buy, but I can't find it anywhere :/ Looks like the perfect summer color!

  13. Love the poncho/cape/whatchumacallit. You look adorable. Re: crappy movies. I'm OK with spending my movie bucks on techno epics that need to be seen on the big screen... I lower my expectations and basically rationalize that these movies are made for 13 year old boys. But the worst movie I ever saw had to have been "Troy". SO disappointed, and I'm a huge fan of Eric Bana! Wait, "Alexander" was crappy too... Think there's a theme here, I need to avoid toga epics...

  14. Sara -- It's actually "Green 11" from Urban Outfitters, which I think is still in stores!
