AT LEAST I'M NOT WEARING FRINGED BOOTS, TOO

Readers, I am working from home today as I recover from some fit my stomach is pitching. I'm sure my coworkers are happy that I'm not there in the office, spreading my germs around like an inebriated New Year's Eve reveler with access to a bucket of confetti. Germy, germy confetti.

So, rather than show off my sweet outfit of dinosaur-print pajama pants and giant Boston University t-shirt, here's a previously unposted outfit:

black tights + black diamond tights, hue + modcloth
cummerbund belt, anthropologie
'allie' flats, bcbg
ring, f21

This dress was love at first sight. I spied it while shopping for my holiday party dress and it ended up coming home with me because I am weak-willed. Don't judge me. It definitely has a pretty hippie/flower child vibe to it, which is probably due to the wonderful sleeves and light sweater-knit texture. Beware, though, if you are of a normal height and not as fun-sized as I -- this dress is short.

Finally, I want to give another shout-out to Tara B's "12 Days of Christmas" feature on Little Girl Big Closet. Yesterday was an astonishingly lovely vignette from Kathryn and Carol, and today is Lisa's ridiculously adorable take on "3 French hens"! Accccccck, I love it!

HOLIDAY LACE&GRACE

I found this black lace dress at Macys and it was love at first try-on. It reminded me of this gorgeous black lace dress that Tien has, but that I can't get a hold of because there are no H&Ms in Houston. GRRRR. Well, this was the next best thing, and I wore it to my company's holiday party this past weekend!

I love the long sleeves, the beautiful black lace, and the kicky tulle lining under the skirt. It fit so wonderfully, and even though I wore it with an all-black ensemble, some light makeup, baubles, and shiny heels ensured that I looked like myself and not like some strange wannabe goth AmyK (because I left those days in high school, kids, and I don't ever want to revisit them).

faceted glacon bracelet, j.crew
pave heart ring, coach

And I think Boyfriend must be starved for some proper blog attention because here's what I found after taking a detail shot for you guys:

Sneaky devil. But he also got gussied up for the holiday party, so it's only fair that I show off his ensemble as well:

Yup.

And finally, at the end of the night, Boyfriend and I found ourselves alone on the roof of the parking garage overlooking Houston's glorious skyline. So what do we do? We take pictures like this:

I don't know what I'm saluting, though. Holiday cheer?
