the wright dress, the wrong price

QUICK REVIEW before the weekend comes and I inevitably forget alllll about this - I went to Anthropologie last weekend and spied the adorable Wright dress. I tried on some other things too, but I haven't seen it reviewed, so I'm going to give it a go for anyone who's interested. Here it is:

'wright' dress, anthropologie $168

yellow crinoline for extra poof

I really liked it! The dress is really cute and a little funky because of the colorful airplane design. The airplanes are embroidered on, by the way. It's made out of a thin cotton material with stripes and is fully lined. You can see the awesome yellow lining in the second picture. It also has a bit of yellow tulle/crinoline as well, which really gives this dress some poof on the bottom.

The fit is TTS because I took my usual size 4 in it. The only issue I had is with the top part, which had a tendency to want to bunch or slide down, but I suspect that this is because I don't have any boob to hold up a strapless dress. I have this problem with most strapless dresses I encounter, but it's nothing a good strapless bra can't fix. The rest of the dress fit beautifully and was super comfy on. I don't know what it'd be like to sit in such a poofy dress, though. Hmmm...

There were a ton of these dresses the last time I went to Anthropologie, so I'd say that there's a good chance this will be making it to the sale rack in the future. I don't think it's worth $168 because the material is pretty thin and really, it's a cotton summer dress, so I'm going to be waiting for a price reduction. But once that sale comes, I'm all over this!

  2. You look adorable in the first pic! This is one dress I really want, and would probably even consider buying at regular price, but for my total lack of boobage I can't hold up a strapless dress to save my life u_u

  4. i followed you from ginger's blog, b/c i love this dress. i LOVE the way you have it styled! i just used my birthday discount the other day, and while this is my current favorite item at anthro, i'm holding out for a sale, too. i think it should get marked down before it's warm, and it is so very thin. still, it's very anthro. great review! :)

  5. Very gorgeous! I agree about the price though, if it's just like a cotton summer dress. Then again, I'm trying to think of a dress in my closet that didn't cost over $100 since I'm majorly cheap and wait for everything to go on sale. Somehow, I luck out with my size though! - J.

  6. Looks great on you! The dress is super cute, but I agree, the price is a little hard to swallow. It's a cotton dress you wouldn't be able to wear all the time!

  8. you look adorable in it. I have the same problem with strapless! It's really annoying. But sometimes I belt it right under, like empire style and it stays. :)

  9. This dress is so cute on you and love it with that cardi and shoes. But yes the price is a bit steep for some airy dress. Hopefully you can get it on sale. :-)

  10. I'm totally with you, I love the dress to pieces and the airplanes couldn't be any cuter. Price tag is too much though, and I can't justify buying it now in February when I wont wear it until May/June. By then, I'm sure it will go on sale!
