trooper of hearts

Hello, hello! Before delving into what I wore today, please visit one of my favorite bloggers, Tara from Little Girl Big Closet, to vote for your favorite fall outfit! Yours truly is in the running (as Outfit #3), but rather than tell you to choose me, please pick someone's fall outfit that you find amazing. There are some great ones on there! Voting ends tonight, so act fast! I know we're experiencing a voting fever right about now, but luckily, for this one, you don't even have to leave your chair to cast your vote.

How was everyone's Halloween? Boyfriend and I stayed in and watched National Treasure 2. After all, Nic Cage's hair is pretty spooky.

Seriously, though, I can't watch scary movies. I find them fascinating, but I am what some scientists would call "a huge pansy." The scariest thing I watch regularly is CSI and even that freaks me out at times. It's pretty pathetic.

And now, the OOTD:

vappu dress, anthropologie [x-ish]
twisted trooper sweater cardigan, f21
black tights, hue + j.crew
heart flats, diy
mystery belt, anthropologie
duchess cocktail ring, j.crew

I'm going to kick off my exercise regime today. It's time to shed the weight I gained... from last year's holiday season. Yeah. I still never lost last Christmas's pudge. It's time to get on that.

I ran out of time to edit photos before leaving this morning, so I'll be posting about our rug tomorrow. For now, you can enjoy that little sliver you can see of it in the picture above.

  1. OMG, I am going to steal your flats. I suppose it would be easier to make my own, but I would much rather steal yours.

  2. I love your heart flats! How did you do them? Is there a post on this DIY?

Also, I have that belt too. It is called the Buckled Cumberbund belt and it sold last winter. One of my faves. :)

Only someone as cute as you could pull off those shoes!

  5. I was going to comment on your heart flats too, I thought they were Vivienne Westwood and when I read "diy," I wanted to ask how you did it! Or maybe a close-up shot? They're so cute! I'm also terribly squeamish and can't watch a scary movie to save my life. (:

  6. I can't decide which I love better - your cool cardi (can't believe it's F21) or your darling flats!

Halloween eve was great weather but it looks like it's warming up again - boo!

  7. How do you always manage to look so ridiculously cute? Do you have strangers come up and squeeze your cheeks? Not saying that I would do that if we were to meet....but justsayin, love this outfit!

  8. Vote cast! Erm, are we going to get a how to on those adorbs DIY flats?! ;) My Halloween was pretty mellow--we hoped to have lots of trick-or-treaters but only had about 30 kids! Now we've got about 4 bags left of candy. I love sweets as much as the next gal, but yeessh, that's a lot of Snickers to get through. And you are so right about Nic Cage's hair--very spooky!

  11. I also cannot watch scary movies to save my life. I have nightmares for weeks on end, and "suspenseful" television shows like CSI regularly terrify me. My husband says it's because I live an active fantasy life. ;) And yes, I add my voice to all the other readers - please please please, how'd you make those shoes????

  14. Your heart flats are so adorable. Do a DIY post!

  15. Nicholas Cage himself is kinda creepy, if you ask me.

The Vappu with cardi and tights is perfect. I like it with the cardigan because for me, the straps are a bit wonky and take some manuevering to stay up and in place. A cardigan solves that problem!

  17. Cutest outfit ever, Amy, I loves it!

AND YAY for another person not digging horror movies. Count me right in that boat with you- it only took one viewing of The Never Ending Story when I was little and the weeks worth of nightmares after to ruin it for me. And I don't even care if the Never Ending Story isn't a REAL scary movie- have you seen that huge flying white dog thing?

Gah! Can't think about it! *hides under desk*

Congrats for being in the outfit contest, too- love yours!

  18. Your outfit is too cute! Lol, I think shows like CSI and Criminal Minds freak me out more than scary movies! I mean those story lines could actually sort of happen. Eek! I think your belt was called the Buckled Cummerbund.
