Also this past weekend, Boyfriend and I dined on some delicious crepes at CoCo's Crepes & Coffee. It's one of our favorite Saturday afternoon spots for a light lunch -- the savory crepes are divine!
Boyfriend is doing what I like to call the "Dr. McCoy" eyebrow (any Star Trek fans? anyone? anyone?) -- though I have no idea what's going on with his mouth.
A chicken pesto crepe with carrots, zucchini, and greens! I'm still figuring out how to make food look tasty in photographs. It's tricky, you guys.
And now, the clothes.
I took advantage of the sunset for my OOTD pictures. Learning from Tara's (Little Girl Big Closet) awesome photo tutorial on lighting, I knew that having the sun lower on the horizon was something I needed to jump on. I scampered out into a random grass lot, which isn't all that pretty, but it was safe from curious onlookers. I'm still working on that "taking pictures in public" confidence level. The pictures turned out a little dark because I didn't think to adjust some of my camera settings, but I'm still pleasantly surprised by how nice and warm the colors are!

I tend to look off into the distance in my photos. It's like there's always something really interesting going on just slightly to the right of the lens.
Except in this photo, which I will leave you with because I have no shame:
Me: "MMM CHOCOLATE BUNNY."
Me: "MMM CHOCOLATE BUNNY."
Chocolate Bunny: "MMM CARROT."
Carrot: "AAAAAUUUUGGGHHHHHHH."
Yeah. I'll see you all tomorrow.
Baaahahahaha you are such a friggin riot, omg. Thanks for the shout-out- your sun pic looks so very pretty, and I love the way the sunlight highlights your hair :)
ReplyDeleteI stared at that last pic for quite a while. Then I laughed. You really are one of the most fun people I've ever had the pleasure of "knowing"!
Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. Our weather here was mild, with Sunday being sunny and warm...a perfect day to hang out and enjoy the day as you did. I love, love your bag! You and boyfriend are adorable. I can't wait to see your post on Jcrew's new arrivals.
ReplyDeleteOh, I just ordered that skirt from J.Crew - how does it fit? I'm usually right between an 8 and a 10, and got an 8 because I figured it was loose in the booty (my "endowed" area) and elastic in the waist. I got the faded black color, I'm excited for it!
ReplyDeleteafter I tried the cotton bell skirt one size smaller than my usual size, I fell in love with it. (IRL pix in my blog). Then I went back home to order it online, only to find out it was sold out in this lovely toffee color. bummer :(
ReplyDeleteLove all the pics! You two are just such a cute couple. Oh, and yes...I definitely remember Dr. McCoy. Your BF has just about mastered the "eyebrow". :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE this post and your lovely weekend :) PS: Fab OOTD pics with the sunset!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun weekend!! I love the Star Trek reference! You look beautiful as always and I totally want to eat the head off that bunny!
ReplyDeleteCrepes and coffee = YUMMY! another supremely adorable OOTD and love the food chain action going on in your last photo. :)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds SO yummy!!! Now I want a chocolate crepe and some coffee. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are adorable and look so cute in the checkered shirt with the khaki skirt. SO cute!
Come take a look inside A Working Mom's Closet
I was worried someone might think you were "casing" their ride and come over and cause some trouble ;-) Good to know it was your vehicle! ha ha ha.
ReplyDeleteThe lighting in your pics is really good. You did a great job!
Love this! The look seems so elementally you that I was wondering what was new in the outfit at first!
ReplyDeleteGreat late sunshine shot, and I love the vividness of the blue against the softer tone of the skirt. perty.
Oh lady, I love nothing better than a good crepe! Especially a savory one! Ooh, I'm so hungry right now ...
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit and great photos, girl! I know what you mean about taking pics outside - try doing it without a smiling photographer! Or a regular photographer! Or even a mildly-amused photographer! Or a tripod!
You sure are getting a head start on Easter candy. :)
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is totally cute. Is that Jackie cardigan in the nightfall blue color? I just ordered the Dorrie skirt in that color. And you know I love that nice bag you have on your arm!!
I love the last pic! I like the food shot, it looked pretty darn tasty to me! Your outfit is so cute, I need to go to J Crew, now!
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with you MAB - is that a lilac color? Urgh Rebecca Minkoff you are a genius!
ReplyDeleteCute pic btw - my fave is the last one. ;)
I've only has breakfast style crepes, not lunch or dinner. Looks good. As does your skirt :-)
ReplyDeleteOooh, crepes sound amazing! :o
ReplyDeleteIt looks more like a Spock eyebrow to me :P
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit. You are adorable.
Great job with the sunset pic! I think it turned out very well. What a great Saturday afternoon outfit...and lunch. That chicken pesto crepe looks sooooo good. Yum.
ReplyDeleteIt's 11pm here right now, and i've finished dinner and dessert, but for some reason i have a craving for crepes...and chocolate bunnies.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your outfit so much - I must get myself a checkered top asap. And great job with the pictures - I see you've responded well to Tara's tutorial!
I love this, and um, please give me that bag.
ReplyDeleteI was going to buy that skirt online, but I was afraid of the sizing...how does the skirt fit? I'm always between a 0 or 2, and with the elastic I can size down...unless the hips are too narrow! What do you think?
ReplyDeleteAshley -- I got this in a size up from what I usually wear because it was the only one they had in the store, but I think you can get away with wearing it in a size 8. It definitely allows room in the booty area, haha, so that shouldn't be a problem at all!
ReplyDeletefshnonmymind -- I actually have no idea what color the cardigan is, haha! It was on the sale rack in my store and I just loved it!
Fashion Therapist -- Yup, my MAB is in the lilac color! I love it!
Anon -- I totally see the Spock eyebrow now too -- you are so right!
LAPT -- I think you can definitely size down with this one, especially if you can normally wear a size 0 anyway. I sized up because it was the only one available, and the waist is loose, but I wear it belted without an issue. The elastic is pretty forgiving too from what I can tell, and the skirt floats away from the body so I don't think hips should be an issue. I hope that helps!
Everyone Else -- You guys made me LOL more than once, haha! I love reading all of your comments and I only wish Blogger had a better system where I could respond to each of them!
LOL!!! The bunny pic is awesome!! ha ha!
ReplyDeleteAwesome outfit, pictures, hair and smile!!
