I did my official weekly weigh-in this morning, and I have lost another 2 pounds. WOOHOO! 4 pounds down, 26 more to go! For those of you just now hearing about my weight loss goals, have no fear -- I am doing this slow, steady, and healthy.
[UPDATE]
I've received quite a few concerned emails and comments about my weight since I first blogged about it weeks ago. I love that you guys care! But the fact of the matter is that I do need to lose weight. Though this is partially a vanity thing, it is more a health thing. I used to be in a healthy weight range, but over the last year, I've crossed over into the "overweight" spectrum... by a lot. I know I look small, but I credit that to knowing how to dress my body so that I look as slim and trim as possible, even when I'm not. I just wanted to share that with you all so no one thinks I have some weird Mean-Girls-"I want to lose three pounds"-Regina-George thing going on.
Anyhoodle, today's post will be a short one. It's back to work I go!
I like your nail polish. Tell me more. :)
ReplyDeleteI am dying to find something the color of that cardi - mustard! It's such a happy color =)
ReplyDeleteYou don't need to lose 26 pounds :( You look good.
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!!! I am so, so, sooooo proud of you!!! :) And you look absolutely adorable...love your hair pulled back!
ReplyDeleteYou look so stunning in maxi length- somehow, it's actually more lengthening, instead of making you look shorter (which I'm afraid they'll do for me)...I really need to jump on the maxi bandwagon asap...Congrats on losing 4lbs! Wow :D I've only managed to lose 1 so far -_______-
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the weight loss, though you don't need to in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteWhich color infinity cardi is this? gold or curry? I wanted the gold but it's gone now, hoping this is curry bc it looks great!
Sonjana -- I'll update you on the polish colors once I go home and look at the bottles!
ReplyDeleteBeautygirl24 -- I love the color too! I searched for so long for it, and I was ecstatic when J.Crew put one out and it went on sale, haha!
Anon -- Aww, thanks! That's very sweet! Trust me, though, it's more for health than for looks -- though the looks part factors in too!
Anne -- Yay, thanks!! I couldn't have done it without your help! I'm going to shoot over another email soon. ^^
Tara B -- You should definitely try a maxi skirt! I was surprised by how they made me look taller, too -- maybe it's because I hike them up to my waist instead of wearing them at my hips like you're supposed to, haha! And 1 pound is better than nothing!
Anon -- You're in luck -- I'm wearing the curry color!
love this look. it's effortlessly chic.

I love this look and when I saw it I knew you had lost weight, you look great!
ReplyDeleteYour nail polish is fantastic, so sparkly!
Is that skirt still at F21? I want it! I need it!
ReplyDeleteYou are so adorable and tiny looking!!I try to dress to cover my "bad areas" and don;t always succeed. :/ I am on trying to lose weight as well. My friends and I are starting the Jillian Michaels 30 day Shread soon and we are having rewards for the winner. I am thinking of getting some online friends to do it too.I hate to exercise, so not looking forward to it. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your hair and everything about this outfit.
ReplyDeleteI totally understand your weight loss thing. People tell me all the time that I don't look like I need to lose 30 or so pounds, but numbers don't lie and I need to not be in the overweight category. You look great and keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteFYI, I've been following my own advice and cut out carbs ... I lost 4lbs of fat in my first week! I totally support getting one's BMI back in check. Though my BMI is in the healthy range, my fat mass is totally out of the healthy range.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the weight loss. It's a mysterious thing at times, esp when it needs to be done. I understand exactly what you mean about healthy weight. When you're short, an extra 15 lbs can be almost 15% of your body weight, depending on the person. At 5'2", I am easily at 30% body fat because of this. Lawd I can't believe i just typed that, but it's true. If I drop even 10 lbs, my body fat % goes down tremendously.
ReplyDeleteNow onto the fun stuff. You look awesome in this outfit. Who says shorties can't max it out? They're wrong!
Congrats on the weight loss!! I love that long maxi skirt it's so cute and looks comfy too!
ReplyDeleteThose long skirts just look so great on you!
ReplyDeleteGood on you for sticking to your weightloss program. I know, like Gigi says, packing a few extra pounds when you're 5'4" and under is a tremendous strain on your body. At my heaviest I developed hip and lower back problems. I can definitely get on board with losing 10 pounds, but am concentrating on increasing muscle mass instead. You look lovely by the way, you rock that maxi skirt!
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of times people don't realize the way people's - especially smaller people's - bodies carry weight, you know? So it might be hard for people to see that you're uncomfortable or your feel unhealthy at your current weight because you're still a smaller size. I have that problem all the time. As I'm losing weight, I realize that to other people, I look exactly the same, but I feel a lot healthier and I have the ability to be more active, not to mention I fit into my clothes a lot better. So you've definitely got to do what feels best for you and your body.
ReplyDeletesuch a comfy cute look!

So cute! I love the maxi skirt and the long cardigan together! And congrats on losing those two pounds. :D
ReplyDeleteI cannot wear long skirts, you look beyond amazing in that one. Stunning!
ReplyDeleteIf you have to lose weight and your dr. agrees, then so be it. You *do* look great, no matter what, but you have to be in control of your own ship, you know??? :)
I was about 20 pounds heavier than I am now when I started my blog and I knew I should lose weight, and I am glad I did, but having it happen more "publicly" felt kind of strange...I think doing so may have inspired others (don't know really). Maybe you will inspire others!!! (How cool!)
I really like your hair up like that! It looks great and the skirt is awesome!
ReplyDeleteWay to Go! You are a smart, confident girl. I knew it was not vanity but health you are after. You are SO on the right track, keep going!!! :)
ReplyDeleteMondays tend to be the day I want to put no effort into getting ready. I believe it has a lot to do with the simple fact that I am returning to work.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your weight loss. Keep it up. I love, love, love how you have been maxin it out (thanks Gigi). You look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit, Amy! You look terrific. And congrats on the 4 lbs!
ReplyDeleteI love this- you look totally pulled-together AND comfortable!
ReplyDeleteToday I tried on a maxi dress for the first time, and it's all because of you! I don't know how it looked, but it sure was comfortable. So now I understand your love for the maxi length on days when you don't feel like putting in the effort. And I don't think you need to lose weight, but it's always good to live a healthy lifestyle, so congrats on achieving your goals!
ReplyDeletecongratulations on your weight loss! I totally get where you are coming from regarding getting into a healty range. Ultimately, health is the most important. I'm encouraged and inspired by you!
ReplyDeleteYou look so angelic in this outfit to me. I can't put my finger on it, but I'm just loving the long cardigan, long skirt, everything!
There's just something about your outfit and the way your hair is that make it all look ethereal. I've been seeing maxi skirts on other and am really tempted to try it for myself. I absolutely love the way you style your skirt!
ReplyDeleteComplex Cardigans
I love love your outfit today!! So casual chic! I also love your title and Enchanted!! I see your book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" there in the background! One of our favs.
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely, my dear! Maxi skirts and dresses always intimidate me--I worry my shape will get lost in all that fabric. But I love the way you've got it all styled here--pulled together and as Jenn said, "ethereal." :)
ReplyDeleteGood on you for losing weight Amy. I know i've said it many times before - you are totally gorgeous the way you are. But if losing weight and becoming healthier is your goal, then by all means I support you 100%.
ReplyDeletePutting effort getting dressed is difficult for someone like me who sleeps late and wakes up early for work. You still look gorgeous in your essentials :-)
congrats on the two pounds! I am in a crunch to lose a bit since spring break is in a week and a bikini is not avoidable since I am going to Florida.
ReplyDeleteYou still manage to look great; if I was feeling lazy, it would be jeans and a sweatshirt. the end.
I adore what you did with your hair! And you look super cute in the maxi skirt!
ReplyDeleteLove this look!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this look! The hair, the skirt, the cardigan, and that nail polish!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable Amy. I'm 5'9" and too afraid to rock the maxi length, but you do it with ease ;) And congrats on a 4 lb loss! I've put on a ton of weight since I started my blog (like 30-40 pounds). You can't notice it THAT much surprisingly, and I think people think I'm a little crazy when I mention it to them. I'm not actually upset or unhappy about how I look, but I would like to be healthier, and it would be nice to fit into some of my older clothes that now no longer zip up easily! I've lost about 10-15 so far...I've got about the same amount as you to go! Wishing both of us the best of luck =)
