dusty drapes

Guys, I love Christmas. In fact, I'm already beginning to accumulate Christmas decorations for Boyfriend and I's first Christmas in our own home. We're going to have our very own Christmas tree! This excites me. But, being subjected to hearing Christmas music before the Thanksgiving turkeys have even begun sweating their impending doom does not excite me. I adore Christmas tunes, but November 5th is far too early to be treated to 6 different renditions of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." You hear that, Saxophone Guy Outside My Office Window?! Too early!

sappho dress, modcloth
always cardigan, j.crew [x-ish] [x-ish] [x-ish]
frock coat (pictured below), zara [x (I have the black version)] [x-ish] [x-ish]
black tights, hue
towny boots, guess
studded belt, j.crew
cluster ring, j.crew
glacon bracelet, j.crew

The cardigan is actually black, not navy blue like how it looks in the last photo. It's weird what lighting can do to color. Anywho, I hope you all have a great weekend!

  1. Oh, I hear you on the Christmas music thing - I LOVE Thanksgiving, so I'm really not ready for Christmas celebrations yet. They've already started decorating for Christmas at my work (to be fair, it takes a long time for everything to be installed and they have to be done the day after Thanksgiving). I do love your dress, though! Cowl necks are so feminine!

  2. That is such a beautiful modcloth dress. I adore it on you. :)

We have a saxophone player at my kid's preschool. He's great, just plays the smooth jazz stuff. I wonder if he'll switch to Christmas tunes or if he will continue to woo us with LOOOOOOOVE songs...

  3. Love you outfit! Echo on the Christmas music. Heard that on the radio this morning when getting dressed. It's NOVEMBER...not even American Thanksgiving yet. Urgh. Gonna be so sick and tired of the "sounds of the season" by the time Christmas really rolls around. That said, will try to do all my shopping and card-sending before this month's end. Good luck to me :P

  5. Ohmygosh, I hear you!!! I have been hearing Christmas music and seeing decorations before Halloween was even here. C'mon already, I'm sick of it. However, I'm looking forward to seeing your decorations....it's always so exciting when it's the "first"

Your dress is so pretty, and looks great on you.

  6. This dress looks so much like the Waffle Weave dress from Anthro recently, but I think I actually like this material better. It looks way comfy. :)

  8. Ditto on the Christmas music comment. I love a little diddy about Santa coming to town and all, but not before I've even had my turkey! the day after thanksgiving, it's fair game.

I love that outfit, but I'm coveting your coat!

  11. Really cute ensemble. I love the dress. I agree, Nov. 5 is a wee bit early for Christmas music. It seems to start earlier and earlier every year.
