placed an order at j.crew...

For those of you who follow my mostly inane tweets, you know that I did a little shopping last night. And I am excited to get my hands on these lovely things...

souvenir dress, j.crew
jenna's cardigan, j.crew

I know none of these are really new arrivals, but don't worry, I do plan on ordering some of the newer stuff to try out too! And I will document them for you all here so that other short, pear-shaped ladies can benefit from my reviews. Huzzah!

I've been in love with the Souvenir dress for months, and seeing as how I had the wonderful gift card that Angela gave me, my rewards card, and the 20% off that J.Crew extended to card holders, I finally went for it. Eeeeek, so excited!

I also grabbed the Jenna cardigan in navy because a) I need a cropped navy cardigan and b) the cardigan may be boring and plain Jane, but I swear to you that it's the most versatile one I have in my closet (I have a black version from last year). The fabric is relatively light and cool for wool, it's incredibly soft, and it hits at just the right spot to go fabulously with dresses and skirts. I recommend it as a wardrobe staple!

Here's the outfit I already planned for my new purchases, so think of this as the trailer for an upcoming OOTD:

And just like a non-JJ Abrams-helmed trailer, I just showed you every single thing that's going to be in that outfit.

Seriously, though, does anyone else notice that? I feel like every trailer these days basically shows you the entire movie in a neat 3-minute package.

  3. I have nearly a $1,000 worth of items in my J Crew shopping cart. And I'm just sitting here on my hands waiting for a hot little % off coupon code for new arrivals (come on, JC ...) so maybe I can acquire some of those lovely items.

I wanna see you in the souvenir dress - seems very "AmyK."

  4. I'm so happy for your new purchases!!! :)
That dress is really cute and I look forward to seeing it in action.

My friend refuses to watch trailers for any movie she is interested in seeing because she knows they will spoil it.

  5. Ooh can't wait to see this outfit on you. As a fellow pear-shaped shortie, I'm always wary of shift dresses as well as J.Crew purchases, since they seem to run kinda huge on me as a general rule. *Love* the vintage Dooney doctor satchel too!
