I waaaant it!

So, I'm thinking that this coat is the best thing since sliced bread:

Elimovna coat from Anthropologie, $298 [x]

And this coat is the best thing since... uh... unsliced bread:

Through-the-Lens coat from Anthropologie, $298 [x]

They're both essentially the same coat, but in different colors and embroidery patterns. But AHHHH they are both so cute! The only pink one left in my store is in a size 4, so whoever is still searching for one in that size should contact the Houston store in Highland Village. The black one is newer, so I found all the sizes in stock. I take a size 2 in this coat, so unfortunately the 4 is too big on me. Otherwise you know my impulse shopper instinct would've kicked in once I saw that there was only 1 (1!!!!!!!!!) pink coat left. Even the BF agreed that it's a pretty awesome coat (it suits me, he says, whatever that means), but I think his contacts nearly fell out of his eyeballs when I told him how much it cost.

"$298?! For that?!" he said (eyebrows reaching his hairline as he spoke). I'd blame this reaction on the fact that most of his clothing items cost $30 and under, but I have to admit that I agree. $298 is a bit steep. But I waaaaaant it! And I may give in. Especially if I happen to stumble upon the pink one in the ever-elusive size 2. Shhh. Don't tell! Teeeeehehehehehe.

the lexi satchel

Oh man. I've woken up super late two days in a row now, meaning that I didn't have time to snap any outfits of the day for yesterday or today. Apologies! I did end up showing up early to the office both days, though. I don't even know how that works.

On another note, being the spend-happy person that I am who cannot resist a good sale, I got this lovely thing during J.Crew's 20% off promotion:

Lexi Satchel from J.Crew

I couldn't help myself, especially when I was hurting for a bigger bag and my coveted Kooba Jacinda is nowhere to be found. And this one just has some precious details! The tassels! The messenger-style capability! The lush dark grey color! Love, love, love. It's scheduled to arrive on my doorstep next Monday, and I hope it does not disappoint in person. Come on, J.Crew, don't fail me now!

call me!

Dear Dress,

I hope you don't find this too forward, but I think I have a pretty big crush on you. Maybe you and I can get together some time and talk about how completely hot you'd look paired with the awesome red tights I just got. What say you?

Sincerely,
Amy Kelinda

PS. Your friend can come too:

high five! OWWWW

I am so glad to hear that some of you ladies also can't bench-press a bag of marshmallows. I'd high-five you all, but I'm in pain, so that'll have to wait. My arms are killing me! I could barely get dressed this morning and my gunning through another gym session after work today certainly didn't improve matters much. Sigh.

I usually take my outfit photos before heading off to work, but I ran a tad behind schedule this morning* so that didn't happen. Boo!

This may sound completely silly, but I've got a possible date night in a few weeks and I'm already planning what to wear!

But before we dive into that, a little background setting is in order: You see, I'm suffering from a condition commonly known as "perpetually single." The last relationship I was in ended over 4 years ago, and since then I've had a string of terrible dating experiences. As in every dude was a total weirdo. Or creeper. Or both. -shudders- But, I recently met someone quite wonderful, and we made plans to catch a play together next month. Though I haven't spoken to him in a while, I hope he still remembers. But even if that falls through, I have a great buddy who promised to accompany me to the show in his place, so either way, I need a fabulous date night outfit!

At the moment, I'm thinking of wearing a little black dress topped with my classic khaki trench from Banana Republic. So here are some contenders for the category of "Theater Date Night Little Black Dress" thus far:

A. Monochromatic Corset Dress from Anthropologie

B. Evening in Paris Dress from Lulus

C. Escapade Dress from Modcloth

Okay, so Dress A isn't technically a little black dress, but I still love it. The lace-up detail in the back is WOW. And I adore the neckline detail on Dress B. Dress C has a cute retro-ish vibe (must be the peplum) that I dig. It might even look rad paired with bright or patterned tights! The choices!

*see above mention of "arms are killing me" and "I could barely get dressed this morning"

blaaaarghy

No photos today because I woke up late and as a consequence, look like a total scrub here in le bureau. One of those days, you know?

It's only 9 a.m. and I'm already wishing for the weekend. That's what a daily one hour commute will do to ya.

Here's something I stumbled upon last weekend and decided that it must be mine:

I love the colors, the sleeves, the pattern... It's like a combination of retro secretary dresses with that grunge calico thing that I love so much. I must have it! MUST! BUT I cannot convince myself to pay for shipping. Not because it's an exorbitant cost or anything, but because I hate paying for shipping in general.
