pooh bear-sized addiction to honey

I just can't seem to stay away from the honeyed peplum skirt that Anthropologie put out last year. I had tried it on just for kicks, thinking it was never going to work on my body because how could anything with details at the hip be good for someone who is so... hip-y? Well, readers, sometimes things you think are oh-so-wrong are actually oh-so-right, so never be deterred from trying on something just because you assume it won't work.

I heard from a friend this morning that Boston (and the entire Northeast in general) (actually, the entire North in general) is getting pummeled by snow. I hope everyone up there stays safe and warm! This is the first year I'm not in Boston for these snow storms, so I'm very thankful to be here in Texas where all we get in February are chills. Bundle up, folks!

  1. Did you get that necklace recently? I have seen this necklace all over the blogs and I thought it was from Anthropologie. I must have it!

  2. Girl, your cost per wear is going to be so low, and that's a good thing! If I had this skirt, I would wear it all the time, too. :)

  3. Ooh, yellow with purple is one of my favorite color combos! How pretty! And uhh...yeah, I live in dc/northern va- we got about 30 inches this past weekend, and are geared for another 12-20 inches between yesterday and today. I can't even let my dog out to pee, the snow accumulation's several feet taller than him already, poor guy :(

  4. I think Atlanta got flurries for about 3 minutes, so my sympathy goes out to those in the NE and Mid-Atlantic.

That skirt looks stunning on you, Amy.

  7. GFS - I got the necklace from F21 last year, unfortunately. But I did see some in stock again at my F21 store this year, so maybe you can still find it! It's a knock-off of an Anthro necklace, haha!

tastymoog - You are so right about the cost per wear, haha!

Tara B - 30 inches of snow. No, that sounds unreal. How do you live?! I remember getting 12 inches of snow and flipping out because I had to wait for hours to be dug out (I lived in the basement in Boston and the door I used to get out was snowed shut). Poor doggy, too! He must be going nuts being cooped up

Lisa - Thanks! Man, this snow is everywhere, it seems!

Lauren T - Maybe you'll catch a good deal on ebay, as soon as those pesky price gougers scram!

Anon - I got this in a size 6, and I typically wear size 6's in skirts, so I'd say it fits TTS! I have a very large bum and hips, though, and the skirt fits really easily over them, so it *may* be more loose on others? It's a straight cut, too, so there's plenty of room to move around in. I hope that helps!

  10. Girl I am loving that skirt. I tend to stay away from things that emphasize my hips because they are kind of wide but this skirt is just so adorable!

  17. I'm loving all the colors you're rocking in this outfit! I haven't given much though to the purple/yellow combo (it reminds me too much of the Lakers!), but I like how it's paired with green necklace.

  20. Um, you look simply adorable. I'm seriously on the hunt for it, seriously seriously. Will have to update you soon. Love you you paired the shirt and necklace together; I've got the red version of the shirt, gotta love Gap sometimes!

  22. That skirt is lovely--I am all for wearing it more often! :) You have a great eye for mixing unexpected colors...and I love the plaid shirt mixed in. I never know how to wear plaid shirts because they tend to look too masculine on me if I wear them with default jeans...maybe next time I'll try with a pretty skirt.
