weddings! I love weddings, drinks all around! ..... clap him in irons?

I found out yesterday that Boyfriend's sister got engaged! I'm so happy for her! So if you're reading this, Vanessa (unlikely), congrats! It's such exciting news, and it's the first time someone I know in real life is getting married! That is, aside from my I-no-longer-keep-in-touch-with-you high school classmates who have gotten hitched over the years. Woooo hooooo!

And is it just me or does it seem like a lot of awesome people are getting married lately? First, there was Rosemary, and Sharon, and then Tara B., and I know that Kim, and Maria are engaged! (yes, I do keep up with everyone's lives, how sad is that?) And now Boyfriend's sister? Love it.

My own wedding is waaaay off in the future (but hopefully not too far off, eh, Boyfriend? *nudgenudgewinkwink*), but I love the idea of weddings. I've been dreaming about my wedding day since I was a wee lass, though since then my vision of "the perfect wedding" has gone from "giant and extravagant with ice dancers and chandeliers and five-tier cakes and a dress so big you could smuggle the entire population of Borneo under it" to "small, intimate, and whimsically relaxed." It's a good thing our five-year-old selves don't dictate how our weddings would look. Someday, AmyK... Someday you'll be able to plan your own wedding and enjoy all the thrills and headaches that come along with it.

And now, the OOTD:

'free flow' tank, anthropologie
bling-button cardigan, j.crew [x-ish] [x-ish]
twill pants, j.crew
'allie' flats, bcbg
sunburst ring, target
gold faceted bangle, j.crew
monocle necklace, gift

If it ain't broke, why fix it? I wore a near-identical outfit here, except I swapped the denim for twill and the giant necklace for the monocle one.

Have a great weekend!

  2. Every time I come to your blog the word "cuteness" just screams and begs for me to use when commenting. I don't know how you do it....this outfit is totally perfect and the proportions are great. Look forward to your upcoming wedding, whenever that will be, but no pressure, I mean yeah...take your time (really do though!) I've been engaged for 2 years and am in no hurry, though at times I look forward to planning it and finding "the" dress.
